International Bible Reading Association

Heather will be pleased to take orders for IBRA material, including “Light for our Path” notes. Please sign the paper on the Vestibule table or contact Heather direct.

Traidcraft Orders

Margaret is willing to take orders direct for goods seen either in catalogues (available on Vestibule table) or on-line www.traidcraft.shop.co.uk . Postage will not normally be charged. Margaret & Ian also continue to provide a means of purchasing Fairtrade goods after Sunday worship and invite our on-going contribution to that means of supporting “trade justice” and producers in poor areas of the world.

Jute (but not jam or journalism!)

Some of the profits from our Traidcraft stall go to Traidcraft Exchange, which supports long term development projects, including one for jute producers in Bangladesh.

Many of the traditional jute markets have been eroded, but Traidcraft Exchange is encouraging the production of this environmentally friendly crop, and assisting in the identification and development of new markets.

Amongst these is the use of jute for Geotextile, a lightly woven fabric made from natural fibres that is used for soil erosion control, seed protection, weed control, and many other agricultural and landscaping uses. The bio-degradable jute Geotextile left to rot on the ground keeps the ground cool and is able to make the land more fertile.

See www.traidcraft.co.uk for more information.

Church Photocopier

Please note that there are no photocopying facilities in Marketgait at present.

Erskine

Thanks and information are conveyed to us in a letter from Erskine (caring for veterans since 1916) following the allocation of our November 2010 Communion Offering. See noticeboard / Vestibule table for details.
