13 May 2012
Next Sunday 20 May 2012
- 11 am
- Worship led by Mrs Beryl Cowling
We give the assurance of our thoughts and prayers to all who are unwell, awaiting or undergoing treatment, or anxious or grieving for the loss of loved ones.
Christian Aid Week (13th-19th May)
This year, the UK Government will match the first £5m, pound for pound, donated to Christian Aid Week. The theme this year is 'Let's give the tools to help people in poverty out of poverty'. If you have not received an envelope through your door, please take one from the table in the foyer. Filled envelopes may be returned via church - don't forget to gift-aid if you are able.
The General Church Meeting
This will be on Saturday 19th May, starting with coffee from 10am. The business of the Meeting includes election of Church Stewards and representatives from the congregation to the Church Council. Nominations should be given to the Rev Mary Patterson or Margaret Goudie (Church Council Secretary) in advance, please.
“Trial Service”
Please note that worship next Sunday will be led by Mrs Beryl Cowling and
not Mrs Jenni Whittle, as indicated on the Preaching Plan. This will be a
reported Service prior to consideration at the Preachers' Meeting that Beryl
be placed “On Trial” (the next stage in training).
Our prayerful support for Beryl is invited.
Urgent Accommodation Request
We have been alerted through Methodist channels to the urgent need for
inexpensive accommodation in the Dundee area for a female PhD student
at Kenyatta University. She is to be coming “in the middle of May”
to the James Hutton Institute campus here (formerly known as the SCRI,
Mylnefield, Invergowrie).
If you can help in any way, (a room / advice) please contact - as soon as possible - the Rev Mary Patterson or Jenny & David Easson who have copies of the relevant e-mails.
