to all who are unwell, awaiting or undergoing treatment,
or anxious or grieving for the loss of loved ones.
We remember those on holiday and visiting family at this time of year especially, wishing them “safe journeys” and a period of re-creation and refreshment.
Ministerial Pastoral Care
We are asked to note that the Rev Mary Patterson will be at a Superintendents' Conference in York from Tuesday to Thursday inclusive.
General Church Meeting
The annual General Church Meeting will take place today after the Act of Worship, which starts at 10.45am. Following a short break (to allow for 'comfort needs', car parking payments, & serving of coffee), the formal GCM business will include the election of Church Stewards and four representatives from the congregation to the Church Council.
Re-issue of Circuit Preaching Plan: June - August
This Quarter's Plan has been amended and re-issued to take account of changes to Charles Richmond's appointments. A copy of the updated Preaching Plan has been sent electronically to those who have so requested and printed copies are available from the Vestibule table. Please alert others to this re-issue as appropriate. The other Plan pages (covers, diary etc) remain unchanged.

Christian Aid Week: “Bite Back at Hunger”
If you did not have the opportunity to donate during Christian
Aid Week, envelopes are available on the Vestibule table for return
to Margaret.
Broughty Ferry Churches news
- Barnhill St Margaret's
Church, Invermark Terrace, hold a Lunchtime Service on Wednesdays at 12 noon
- Dundee Presbytery has given formal consent for the
linking of the parish churches of St Stephen's and West
with Dundee, St Mary's, the Rev Keith Hall being
Minister of both. The Linkage Dedication Service
will take place on Thursday 27th June.
Volunteer drivers sought
The
Dundee East Community Car Scheme has been established to
“provide transport for older people who cannot, for various
reasons, make their journey by private or public transport.”
The Scheme is seeking volunteers as drivers or bookings assistants.

Museum of Methodism - Wesley's Chapel, London
The newly refurbished Museum of Methodism
in the crypt of
Wesley's
Chapel, City Road, London re-opened to
the public on Tuesday 28th May, and a
formal Service will marks its dedication this week. The Museum
- has been described as a further pioneering step in using
Methodist heritage to further the work of mission.
- has up-to-date technology in an audio-visual
presentation (narrated by the BBC's Huw Edwards),
and the use of iPads and tablets to give interactive
access to major Methodist documents.
-
illustrates “Methodism's dynamic responses
to poverty and social ills”.
- presently contains three permanent exhibitions,
with further displays in planning and preparation for
later phases of its development.
The Opening hours are
- Mon - Fri: 1.00 to 16.00
- Sunday: after worship until 13.45.

Support other Organisations
Scottish Bible Society
Support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in June for work in The Philippines.
Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to
- SBS Board Meeting and AGM on Tuesday, also local church representatives and support groups throughout the country;
- 150 years of Bible Society work in Pakistan, including opening of a new Bible Museum recently at Bible House, Lahore;
- Indonesian Bible Society's Literacy and New Reader Programme in Sanggau, West Kalimantan;
- printing of the Amri Karbi New Testament and Varli: Dogri New Testament, published for the first time, in India;
- plans to print 3.5 million copies of the Bible in China to meet growing demand.
