Methodist Conference 2013 - London
The Conference will meet in Westminster Central Hall,
for the ministerial session from Thursday, with the
representative session from Saturday until the following Thursday.
Proceedings can usually be accessed and followed online through
the
Conference website
The Agenda is also downloadable via the same site and is
available in pdf and eBook formats.
In addition to the Rev Lily Twist, as Chair, the
Scotland District will be represented by the Rev
Martin Keenan, the Rev Andrew Letby, Deacon Roger
Hensman, Mrs Jenny Lee and Mr Ritchie Walker, while
the Shetland District will be represented by Mr
Keith Hawkins, in addition to their Chair, the
Rev Jeremy Dare.
Action for Children
- Please note that there is a now vacancy for a link person with Action for Children (AfC). Those holding boxes or wishing to make donations in support of AfC may do so direct to the Church Treasurer.
- AfC
Dundee Families Project: see the noticeboard for a letter,
photo and card of thanks for our support of their work through
our donations in envelopes and offerings.
- Nominations are invited for the
Stephenson Awards, for 2013. Named in honour of the founder
of the National Children's Home and Orphanage, these seek
“to celebrate the commitment and expertise of those
who make sure Action for Children can be there for the
UK's most vulnerable children and families.”
Nominations of any AfC supporters, volunteers, foster carers,
or staff members should be made by Wednesday 31st July.

World Council of Churches 'Building an Interfaith Community'
From 12th - 30th August up to 30 young Christians, Muslims and Jews from around the world will meet to explore the question,
“What can we, as people of faith, do to overcome the pressing challenges of our time, such as violence and conflict, and build together mutually accountable societies based on respect and cooperation?”
This summer seminar will take place at the WCC Ecumenical Institute in Bossy, near Geneva, the WCC base.
Church Financial Administrator
St Peter's Church is advertising the above position, to
provide administrative support of its Minister, congregation,
and wider ministry. The post-holder will work a 12-hour week:
3 hours on a Monday morning in the Church Office, the

Broughty Ferry Churches news
- Barnhill St Margaret's
Church, Invermark Terrace, hold a Lunchtime Service on
Wednesdays at 12 noon.

St Luke's and Queen Street Church, Broughty Ferry serve an
Afternoon Tea on Thursdays between 2pm and 3pm.
- The formal linkage of the parish churches of Broughty Ferry
St Stephen's & West and Dundee, St Mary's has taken place,
with the Rev Keith Hall as Minister of both. Jenny and David
Easson (currently Chair and Secretary of the Broughty Ferry
Churches Group) were invited to attend The Linkage Dedication
Service in St Stephen's and West last Thursday when they
conveyed best wishes and support for this new relationship
and phase of ministry for both congregations.

Scottish Bible Society
Support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in July for work here in Scotland.
Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to
- hosting of a delegation from the State Administration of Religious Affairs (SARA) of the Chinese government, during their current UK visit;
- Egyptian Christians deported from or jailed in Libya where conditions are very difficult;
- legal restrictions on churches in Algeria and on importing Scriptures;
- outreach through social media, including SBS presence on Facebook.
