Circuit Meeting Résumé

  • The main item of business was the future patterning of the Circuit’s Ministry & work. After a time of sharing views, hopes and concerns, it was agreed that the principles outlined in the document ‘A Way Forward’ be adopted as a basis upon which the Circuit Leadership Team (CLT) would draw up a ‘Business Plan’ to give more substance and detail to these. The views expressed in the Meeting will be taken into account and any further thoughts / suggestions / proposals are invited (preferably in writing) through any CLT member* as soon as possible.
  • Decisions were taken to enable the sale of the Perth Manse.
  • The Circuit Treasurer’s interim Financial Statement and proposed Budget for 2004-5 were accepted.
  • ’tricia Laurie agreed to act as “Circuit Mission Officer”, ie a link between Circuit & Connexion. She continues as “World Church Circuit Co-ordinator” and David Easson fulfils an equivalent role for Mission in Britain.

    1. retiral of Mary Ferrier and election of Mike Wood (Montrose) as a Circuit Steward
    2. replacement of Sandy Laurie (term expired) by the Rev David Firth on District Policy Committee.
  • Jean Murrie’s “Retiral Social” (worship & BBQ) will be at Blairgowrie on Saturday 31st July from 5 pm.
